Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested two suspects linked to separate land fraud cases involving high-value properties in Nairobi.

In the first case, 60-year-old David Ndegwa Mwangi was arrested by officers from the Land Fraud Investigations Unit (LFIU) at DCI Headquarters.

He is accused of fraudulently acquiring land titles for three prime plots located in Countryside Villa Estate along Muthaiga Drive, each valued at about Ksh.45 million.

Investigators say the rightful owner reported that Mwangi, together with accomplices still at large, attempted to take over the land using suspected fake documents.

The group allegedly visited the properties and claimed ownership despite the complainant holding genuine title deeds.

After investigations, the case file was forwarded to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), which approved charges of fraudulent procurement of title.

Mwangi remains in custody awaiting arraignment, as detectives continue to pursue his accomplices.

Director Arrested in Separate Eastleigh Land Fraud Case

In a separate incident, Abdul Hassan Tahalil, a director of Skyline Works Ltd, was arrested over allegations of making false documents in an attempt to illegally acquire a parcel of land worth Ksh.25 million in Eastleigh.

The complainant told investigators that she bought the property in Section One, 4th Street, in December 1966 for Ksh.56,000.

She has, however, recently faced repeated attempts by fraudsters, including Tahalil, to seize the land.

Detectives say investigations uncovered a coordinated scheme involving the company to create fake documents to support the claim.

The case file was submitted to the ODPP, which approved charges of making false documents.

Tahalil is currently in custody and is being processed ahead of his court appearance.
