Motorists traveling along the Mai Mahiu–Suswa–Narok (B7) road have been cautioned over disruptions caused by flooding and silt deposits, especially around the Kedong Ranch area near Suswa.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) said the situation has been triggered by ongoing heavy rainfall, leading to dangerous driving conditions along affected sections of the highway.

Emergency response teams have already been deployed and are working to clear the road and restore normal traffic flow.

Drivers have been strongly advised to avoid driving through flooded sections due to the risk of being swept away or getting stuck in silt.

They are also urged to strictly follow instructions from police officers and traffic marshals stationed along the route.

KeNHA further warned that continued rainfall may worsen conditions, particularly between Naivasha ICD and Suswa Ranch, and called on motorists to exercise extreme caution.

Those yet to begin their journeys are encouraged to use alternative routes, including the Narok–Njoro–Nakuru (B18) road, as authorities continue efforts to manage the situation and ensure road safety.
